Voodoo donuts maple bacon11/23/2023 And remember, Voodoo is open 24/7 so you can go whenever you want. Voodoo Doughnuts is a great place to get quality doughnuts and have some fun as well. You don't want to be one of those people who gets up to the front and doesn't know what they want and holds up the line. This saves both time and energy for you and your server, as their main goal is to get people in and out as fast as possible. Then when you get up to the counter, hand your list over to your server. You can find a list of every single doughnut on their website. Two, write down everything you want in a list on a sheet paper or your phone ahead of time before going to Voodoo. One, go either shortly after 8am or 8pm as these are the times when the doughnuts are the freshest. The Maple Bar was great as well and even better than Top Pot's due to the fact that the icing to cake ratio is more balanced at Voodoo. I highly suggest the Voodoo Doll for its look, size, and fresh raspberry filling and Dirt for Oreo lovers. The blend of flavors between cake, icing, filling, and/or topping was wonderful within every single doughnut. However, Voodoo Doughnuts lives up to its wild reputation of making great doughnuts. I even visited Top Pot Doughnuts in Seattle as well, so I'm not pinning boutique against chain brand names. Being young and a constant customer at Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme back home, I have eaten plenty of doughnuts in my lifetime. I ordered half a dozen doughnuts (Maple Bar, Dirt, Diablos Rex, Portland Creme, Voodoo Doll, and Mango Tango), and every single one of them was fresh and full of flavor and character. However, I was very please with the doughnuts overall taste and quality. I was a little skeptical about Voodoo because other reviews say that the doughnuts are not that good. After one makes it through the gauntlet of weirdos, you can finally purchase some food. The amount of these people is usually higher in the summer as it is the height of season, but still go at an off time. From smokers to beggars, to musicians and pseudo-hippies, all types of odd and annoying people try to prey on those carrying enough change in their pocket for a dozen doughnuts. What I mean is that during peak times such as weekends, panhandlers and homeless people surround the doughnut shop. Also be warned that due to so many tourists and people willing to buy doughnuts, the area attracts a lot of "characters". This is the time that I went and the wait was only 30 minutes, which is great compared to the usual hour or longer wait time. This why I suggest going at an off time such as a Monday at around 9pm. Voodoo Doughnuts' popularity brings in a lot of people and it usually has a very long line. The business has built a cult following over the years, with many dedicated customers. As one of the most visited attractions in Portland, it is no surprise that I visited Voodoo Doughnuts. They had to stop selling a NyQuil doughnut after a call from the FDA. Voodoo Doughnut has experimented with a lot more flavors, but they're not all hits. They have the "Bacon Maple Bar" with maple frosting and full bacon strips on top, the "Tangfastic" with vanilla frosting, Tang, and marshmallows, and the "Ring of Fire" with cinnamon sugar, cayenne pepper, and dried red chili pepper for decoration. The shop offers more than 50 different styles and flavors. HOUSTON, Texas - Voodoo Doughnut was started by two friends who joked they were bent on "world doughnut domination." Now 20 years later, they have 10 locations around the country, including Houston, Texas. Try, if you dare, the "Ring of Fire," a chocolate cake doughnut with cinnamon sugar and cayenne pepper, topped with a red chili pepper.
